A National Consultation has taken place on the Anguilla Health Plan for 2003-2008 under the theme “Investing in Health for the future development of Anguilla.”

The two-day consultation (March 20-21) gave participants, drawn from the health sector in particular, an opportunity to examine the strategic goals, main objectives and expected results of the health plan and to make contributions to the draft document.

The health plan was drawn up by Shirley Augustine, a consultant from Dominica, and is part of efforts towards the establishment of the Anguilla Health Authority.

The opening ceremony was chaired by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Foster Rogers and included remarks by Ms. Augustin, Minister of Health Eric Reid and the Vote of Thanks by Principal Nursing Officer, Serene Carter-Davis.

The invocation was by Pastor Oville Fleming of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
