PAUL THULEAU EXHIBITS AT SAVANNAH GALLERY


Paintings by French artist Paul Elliott Thuleau are currently on show at the Savannah Gallery. The paintings are in oil and depict windows and doorways of Caribbean style houses.


At the opening on Saturday March 8 many persons in the community admired the work of Thuleau who has exhibited in Anguilla before. He has been living in St Martin for the past five years and shows his work there as well as in Nevis and St Barths.
Thuleau studied architecture in Paris for two years and then decided to become a painter and subsequently travelled to Rome, Athens and Crete. After 1981 he returned to Paris to attend the Goetz Academy where he studied drawing, painting and engraving. He has worked as a copper plate engraver, an assistant to a painter, an assistant to a sculptor in New York and also studied pottery in Japan.

The present exhibition will be on display until the end of the month.
