The Club gives sincere thanks to its own competitors in the race, to the Club Members, sponsors and the many supporters for standing tall during the Races.
Andrew Reece, as Captain, expressed his sincere thanks to his teammates and the members of the other cycling clubs for their devotion and continued support for the sport. Reece, an avid cyclist, demonstrated great captaincy throughout the entire Race, showing strong discipline and mentorship that have earned him the many victories during his 20 years of cycling. Reece retained the 6th, position again this year. John Charles placed 8th, and Sherwin Osbourne 10th, for the seniors. Jamel Carty of the Juveniles placed 2nd.
The AUCC, although at a disadvantage, this year (for the first time) in not having junior cyclists in the club, continues its journey and looks to the future in preparation for a bigger and better John T. Race. The AUCC hopes for closer cooperation amongst the clubs to improve the sport in general for 2011.
Coming in September 2010 the AUCC will be hosting its 2nd race to commemorate the first anniversary of its formation. Cyclists will be invited to participate. Please stay tuned to the radio and other editions of The Anguillian for further updates on the date and the route.
