Minnesota-born Jazz Vocalist Michelle Marie teamed up with four Anguillians on Sunday evening, March 2, to present an evening of special entertainment at Cocoloba Beach Resort.

Those who appeared with her were Jaine Rogers who is making a name for herself as a singer, keyboard musician Ash Hodge, singer Andy Matthew and Corinne Richardson (Sproka), a well known guitarist and singer at tourism resorts.

Jaine and Ash performed during the first half of the presentation. After that both Jaine and Marie sang and the final performances were by Marie and Sproka. The visiting singer said she had only been in Anguilla for a week and in that time she was pleased to have met some very talented local singers and musicians. She also found the island to be an excellent place and hopes to get married here later.

All of the performances were well received by the audience while enjoying a special dinner menu.
Michelle Marie began her singing career at an early age. Over the years, through classical vocal training and joint performances with leading singers, she developed a powerful voice which has thrilled audiences across America, Europe and Japan.
She studied at the renowned Boston Conservatory of Music where some of the world’s most prodigious musical talent go to hone their craft. Soon after her graduation she embarked on a year-long world tour with the cast of Up With People, having raised the money herself by holding a concert for family and friends.

The time which she spent travelling abroad helped to enrich her life musically and culturally. With the long-standing mission of spreading peace to the world, she and the cast traded time performing for thousands, working food lines and bussing equipment from town to town.

The management of Cocoloba Beach Resort was delighted to have had Michelle Marie perform for one night on the island.
