“I am glad to be back home working with the Anguilla Community Foundation,” said Mrs. Bailey-Franklin who is the daughter of Ruth-Ann Carty of the East End area and the late Wilson Bailey of Blowing Point.
“We are delighted to have her as the new Executive Director of the Anguilla Community Foundation,” Mrs. Carolle Devonish, the former Executive Director, and now Board member, commented. “Because of her non-profit experience, we thought that she would be a good match for the Community Foundation.
“Her job will be to continue to increase the resources of the Community Foundation. We are building a philanthropic trust for Anguilla and so fund-raising, as well as developing partnerships with other non-profit organisations on the island, will be among her responsibilities.”
Mrs. Devonish disclosed that the Community Foundation had a permanent endowment fund of over 600,000 US dollars, as well as other resources. She added: “People can contribute to the Community Foundation and help us build the permanent endowment fund, or they can create individual family funds for their charitable interests and the Foundation will guide the income from those funds to NGOs on Anguilla.”
