New Pastors Executive Body In Anguilla |
| Publishing date: 04.06.2010 12:09 |
In a general meeting of the Anguilla Evangelical Association held on the evening of Tuesday May 25th, a new executive body of the Association was elected. The Anguilla Evangelical Association is the vigilant arm which represents the evangelical churches on the island and brings to the attention of the churches issues in the society which warrant the need for redress. In essence, the Association acts as a moral and spiritual “watch-dog” for the island’s evangelical churches.

In addition, the Association seeks to bring about a semblance of unity among the churches and, as its name implies, it paves the way for a greater thrust of evangelism in the dissemination of the gospel message.
The Anguilla Evangelical Association was established in 1997, and since its inception its President has been Pastor Lucien MacDonna. Over the years, two new officers in the capacity of Treasurer and Secretary have been elected. These two were Pastor Gareth Hodge and Pastor James Harrigan respectively. Throughout the Association’s tenure, two Senior Advisors had also been appointed in the persons of Pastor Cecil Richardson and Pastor Philip Gumbs.
At the recent election, Pastor Lucien MacDonna tendered his resignation from the Executive as long-standing President. Also tendering his resignation was Pastor Cecil Richardson. With the election of the new administrative body, the current President is Pastor Gareth Hodge with Pastor Gerard Gumbs being elected as Vice President. The new Treasurer is Pastor Juliet Simon, and Pastor James Harrigan has retained the office of Secretary. The two Senior Advisors are Pastor Philip Gumbs and Pastor Jerome Harrigan.
The members of the new Executive have pledged to work together for the promotion of unity, harmony, mutual respect and spiritual vigilance among the churches, while upholding the standard of righteousness, integrity and servant-hood among its pastors, conducive to the principles of the Kingdom of God.
