Shara Captures Long Term Title |

Shara Proctor, Anguilla's top international athlete, has produced the ninth best women's long jump in the history of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, USA.
Representing the University of Florida where she is the senior long jumper Proctor captured the title with a leap of 6.46 metres (21 ft 2.50 inches) and successful defended her title from the 2009 campaign.

In the process, the young Anguillian athlete who is majoring in sports management became just the fifth multiple champion in the long jump at the Penn Relays, now in its 117th year.
Proctor's long jump was the best mark in the event at the Penn Relays since the 2003 campaign, according a posting on the University of Florida (UF) website.
With Thursday's title by Proctor, Florida ties George Mason University for the most titles in the women's long jump at the Penn Relays.
The Anguillian athlete also had a successful 2010 indoor track and field season for her university.
In 2009, Proctor was the only athlete from the Caribbean to compete in the final of the women's long jump at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany where she placed sixth.
