AARF YARDSALES 2011

Great donated items by the plenty are on sale at AARF's yardsale.
Next sale scheduled for March 12 2011

AARF is having a Yard Sale March 12 9 a.m. until noon at our new location: Roy's Bayside Grill in Sandy Ground. (directions and map below.)

As usual, fantastic, quality used items that have been donated throughout this last year will be available: items such as clothing, household goods, books, electronics, DVDs, videos and more! One would be hard-pressed to find better bargains!

Having multiple sales is a departure from past Yard Sales. Those were traditionally held just once a year at the Department of Agriculture. And once that sale ended, that was it for the entire year. This year, AARF will hold more sales on a smaller scale -- but with the same great products. This gives shoppers multiple opportunities to attend sales, and to find great items at great prices.

So come out and shop at Roy’s. The sale will be under a roof, so even if it rains, you can still shop!

By supporting our sale, not only can you find terrific bargains, but the proceeds help raise money for AARF’s many animal welfare programs, such as adoptions (of puppies, kittens, dogs and cats), spay/neuter surgeries, education and animal care.

About AARF and the Yard Sale

AARF, the Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation, is a non–profit organization dedicated to the welfare of dogs, puppies, cats and kittens on Anguilla. AARF maintains a pet shelter (special thank yous go to Morlens Veterinary Clinic) that takes in unwanted animals and provides for adoptions of healthy animals at a reasonable cost. The Shelter is staffed by unpaid volunteers and operates every day that Morlens is open.

A small AARF adoption fee includes several vital animal services: the adopted puppy or kitten’s first set of vaccinations, veterinary examination and de-worming. In addition, the adoption fee includes a spay or neuter for the new pet when it reaches approximately 4-5 months of age. As a bonus, AARF is currently running a special program that provides even more value for adopters: US$10 discounts for the critical second and third sets of vaccinations that will protect the pet for the first year!

The spay and neuter program provides surgeries for hundreds of island dogs and cats, and as a result, has helped immensely in controlling the unwanted births of puppies and kittens on the island.

AARF also runs education projects and provides care for animals awaiting adoption at the AARF Shelter. The Shelter also has leashes, collars, crates and other pet accessories. Volunteers at the Shelter can help with adoption and other pet related questions. Volunteers even maintain a wish list for those wanting a certain kind of pet.

AARF depends solely on contributions from local residents and businesses as well as members and island visitors to support the various programs, and would like to take this opportunity to thank all that help make the Yard Sale a success – those who donated items (which are collected and appreciated all year long), those shoppers who found and will find great bargains, Roy’s Bayside Grill at Sandy Ground for providing us this year’s space, the Agriculture Department for letting us use their grounds in the past and AARF members and volunteers who worked so diligently to make this annual community event a huge success. We are grateful for your support!

Directions to Roy’s Bayside Grill

Take the road towards Sandy Ground. The salt pond will be to the right. Take the first left after the road curves to the right and heads to the restaurants and businesses in Sandy Ground.

This road heads to the port jetty used by the larger ships delivering goods to Anguilla. Roy's will be the last business on the right before going into the port area (do not enter the port area).
