In 1986 Mr. Carty was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In February 1992, he was seconded to the Regional Police Training Centre in Barbados as an Instructor and in 1994 he was appointed the first Training Officer for the Royal Anguilla Police Force. He later became the Firearms Instructor.

“I have reached the point in my professional career when transition to a different field will help me to make other meaningful contributions to our society,” the retired Inspector said. “I now go on to mastery in other areas, utilising and practicing the discipline I learnt in this great institution called the Royal Anguilla Police Force.” He will be using his long experience and accomplishment in traffic matters to operate a private business called Professional Driving School.
A number of Mr. Carty’s colleagues in the Force, and members of his exercise class, joined in paying glowing tribute to him for his varied services and commitment to duty. He was the recipient of parting gifts from Commissioner Benjamin on behalf of all ranks of the Force, and from Human Resource Officer, Mrs. Charmaine Rogers, on behalf of the Department of Public Administration.
