Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association Thanks Longstanding Board Member


The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Associaon (AHTA) grasped the opportunity to thank longstanding and outgoing board member, Mr. Fred Thompson, for his valuable dedication to the board, at their recently held board meeting, he first for the year 2010.

Vice President of the AHTA presented a beautiful engraved trophy to Mr. Thompson. Mr. Delroy Lake, was standing in for Mrs. Sherille Hughes, President of the Association.

Mr. Thompson, who is also the Manger of Carimar Beach Club, and a past Hotelier of the Year, was quite taken by surprise, and said he was honored and humbled by the recognition.

Mrs. Janine Edwards, board member of the AHTA, said not often does one have the distinguished opportunity to work alongside a professional and gentleman of Fred’s caliber. She further described Mr. Thompson as a man of textured wisdom, measured temperament, stellar integrity, analytical genius; unselfish stewardship, and commitment to excellence in all area.

The Association said it appreciate him as well as his extraordinary contribution, not only to the Association, but also to the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and Anguilla overall.

Mr. Thompson was a member of the AHTA for several years: 3 years as President, 5 years as Vice President, and 6 years as a Board Member. He has also sat on the board of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association for the past 6 years, and currently represents the AHTA on the Anguilla Tourist Board.

Anguilla continues to benefit from the committed community work of this outstanding Hospitality Professional.
