ANGUILLA YOUTH SAILING CLUB HOSTS FOURTH |
| Publishing date: 22.01.2010 10:12 |
Last Saturday, twenty-seven young sailors from St. Barth, St. Maarten, and Anguilla competed in the 4th annual Anguilla Dinghy Regatta. St. Barth came with eight sailors, Sint Maarten with twelve, and Anguilla fielded seven avid competitors, all under the age of 15.
|
Despite the dubious weather, and some fickle winds, the intrepid sailors were able to complete nine races during the full day of racing.
The regatta format included four classes sailing two slightly different courses. Two classes (Gold Fleet and Silver Fleet) sailed in the Optimist Dinghies, one class raced in the high-performance, single-handed Lasers, and one in the two-handed 420 sailboat.
