ELECTION MACHINERY IN PLACE


With the General Election in Anguilla announced for Monday, February 15, all the machinery relating to the polling has virtually been put into place by the Supervisor of Elections, Mr. Colville Petty, OBE.

The various election notices have been published, the Returning Officers, Presiding Officers and Polling Clerks have all been appointed, taken their oaths and trained. The final register of voters has also been completed and posted in all seven electoral constituencies.

There is an overall total of 8,652 registered voters. A breakdown shows the following: District 1, Island Harbour: 1,344 voters; District 2, Sandy Hill, 709; District 3, Valley North: 1,655; District 4, Valley South: 1,789; District 5, Road North, 940; District 6, Road South, 1,371; District 7, West End, 844.

The Returning Officers, as listed in the notices published elsewhere in The Anguillian, are Rodney Rey, Bernard Wattley, Laureen Bryan, Colleen Horsford, Jackie Bryan-Niles, Worrel Brooks and Gracita Christopher.

The Presiding Officers are Celestine John, Perin Bradley, Frances Barry, Dorice Fleming, Darwin Hazell, Florence Harrigan, Patricia MacDonna, Carolyn Richardson, Vernice Proctor, Marcia Gumbs, Meridith Gumbs, Adella Richardson, Elvet Hughes, Daphne Jacobs-Richardson, Joash Proctor, Shona Proctor and Era Richardson.

The Polling Clerks are Patricia Wattley, Sonia Richardson, Kirsty Webster, Perrinet Hodge, Lauraine Gumbs, Shellecia Brooks, Sandra Gumbs, Michelle Carty, Sherma Richardson, Denise Romney, Brenda Gumbs, Ermine Edwards, Kiesha Gumbs, Vanessa John, Delta Hodge, Shirley Hughes and Tricia Richardson.
