He said the donation was in appreciation of the continued valuable business from the Government and people of Anguilla. He stated that the company had always maintained an interest in the cause of education and was pleased to make the contribution.
The furniture was accepted by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Chanelle Petty-Barrett. She said that last year, the Director of Office World, Naresh Daryanani (Nash) had informed her that he wanted to present a gift to the Ministry in recognition of the good business it had done with the company.
She thanked Office World for its generous contribution and for being a good corporate citizen and partner in education though not in Anguilla. “We know that you are very professional in what you do. You have always given us good service and we look forward to continued partnership with your company,” Mrs. Petty-Barrett said.
Veda Harrigan, Education Officer for Pre and Primary Schools, said the furniture would go a long way in accommodating the children in the kindergarten sections of the six primary schools.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Principal of the Alwyn Allison School, Mrs. Ornette Edwards-Gumbs. She expressed thanks to Office World for its kind gesture and suggested to the company that “whenever there is a surplus, remember your partners to the north.”
Dawn Reid, Education Planner, was among those at the presentation ceremony.
