Brothers In Festival Of Choirs

One of the features of the recent Festival of Choirs, presented by the Anguilla Methodist Circuit as part of its observance of the Christmas season, was a singing performance by a Male Quartet.

As it turned out at the programme at Bethel Chapel at South Hill, on December 20, five singers, instead of four, appeared before the congregation. It was “a quartet plus one” as the church’s pianist informed an inquiring Superintendent Minister, the Rev. Dr. H. Clifton Niles.

Another feature was that the singers were all family brothers: Julian Harrigan, Quincy Harrigan and Carl Harrigan; and Kenn Banks and Val Banks, all representing Ebenezer Chapel in The Valley. They sang All My Heart This Night Rejoices.

Following a round of applause, Rev. Niles called for more men of the Church to come forward as singers and thereby add much to the worship sessions and the ministry. “You can’t beat men singing,” he quipped.
