Delightful Christmas Programme At Hospital |

The Princess Alexandra Hospital, (administered by the Health Authority of Anguilla), the Government-run Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizens Home and the privately-run Tender Loving Care Home, joined in holding a Christmas Day Programme with the support of a number of community-minded persons.

Others in attendance included the Minister of Health, Evans Rogers, Deputy Governor Stanley Reid and his father, Eric Reid, Senior Adviser in the Chief Minister’s Office.

The programme, which took the form of a service, featured a number of hymns, solos, poems and other renditions for the season.

Among the singers and musicians were Elwood Lake, an Anguillian who recently returned from St. Kitts where he lived for many years, Conlloyd Gumbs, an up and coming musician and a student at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, the staff at the Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizens Home, Terry Harrigan and Terrance Webster of the Scratch Band, Lisa Richardson with a special dance, and Inspector Andy Arsenault of the Financial Investigative Unit and Peter Roberts, Staff Officer at the Governor’s Office.

Pastor Norril Gumbs of the First Baptist Church at Welches delivered the homily during which he drew attention to the birth of Christ, the centerpiece of the Christmas season and its religious and Christian significance.

The programme provided much inspiration for all and was a tribute to the work of the organisers and those who performed various functions.
