Anguilla Police Represented At Scotland Yard Conference


Inspector Andy Arsenault, Head of the Financial Investigation Unit of the Royal Anguilla Police Force, was part of a two-man delegation at a Grand Corruption Practitioners Conference at New Scotland Yard on November 24 and 25. He was accompanied by Inspector Emris Rogers of the Criminal Investigation Department.

The conference was conducted for Law Enforcement Officers from the British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies responsible for money laundering investigation into politically-exposed persons.
The aim was to build a better understanding of the legislation and resources available in different jurisdiction in order to assist them to recognise and make the most of investigative opportunities in a more effective and timely fashion than currently enjoyed.
The conference focused on assets suspected to be stolen through corruption, by the use of money laundering techniques, and routes that are utilised be other organised crime groups. It was noted that such activities were facilitated by those abusing their positions of authority.
The conference also facilitated the opportunity to meet colleagues engaged in the same field of work and to develop knowledge by sharing experiences.
