NO-WALLS CHURCH EXPANDS |
| Publishing date: 04.12.2009 09:49 |
A capacity crowd packed the auditorium of the No-Walls Church of Hope at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon, November 22nd, to mark a special Thanksgiving Service for the church’s sanctuary extension. Throughout the entire proceedings, those in attendance were inspired by many unique features that reflected sentiments of thanks on the part of Pastors James & Pat Harrigan, as well as the many parishioners of the church.

The keynote address was delivered by Apostle Alisha Liverpool of Total Praise Ministries of St. Maarten, with whom No-Walls Ministries is affiliated. Her sermon made specific mention of God’s promise to cause the work which the Harrigans had envisioned to flourish and abound, since the dedication of the original sanctuary in May 2007.
Apostle Liverpool made reference to the account in Genesis Chapter 3 where the devil challenged Eve, the mother of humanity, by asking her if God had actually prohibited her from partaking of the forbidden fruit: “Did God say you must not eat of every tree of the garden?” The Apostle’s aim was to draw a positive parallel with this scenario and the question that some folk might ask, as to whether God did promise that the No-Walls Church would prosper: “Did God say that this church would excel?” She pointed out that evidence to the affirmative was clearly obvious.
In his thanksgiving address, Pastor James noted that the church started out in a small but comfortable one-room facility, and it was God’s great providence that offered the opportunity for expansion, even as attendance to the services increases and the membership grows. He indicated that the gospel of Jesus Christ must be more pronounced nowadays, more than it has ever been before, and so the church has a specific mission to reach and evangelize individuals with much more urgency in these critical times. He belabored the point that while so many may ask why another church, hardly anyone ever inquires why another liquor-shop or bar when these pop up every now-and-then around town.

In essence, Pastor James stated that with the many acute socio-economic crises now affecting so many people, the church must be that beacon sending forth its light to pierce the darkness that envelops troubled souls, thus bringing healing to hurting hearts. “The darker the night,” he explained, “the brighter the light of the church must shine.”
The Sunday afternoon Thanksgiving Service had set the stage for a one-week worship revival which extended from Monday November 23rd thru Friday November 27th. Several local pastors, two each night, fervently preached throughout the week on the subject “Worshipping God In Intimacy”, a theme which had many months ago been revealed to Co-Pastor Patricia Harrigan, who is the main Worship Leader at No-Walls. The week’s activities culminated last Saturday evening with a jubilant spirit-filled Worship Jamboree.

The current size of the No-Walls sanctuary, which sits at the top floor of the English Rose Restaurant building, is now almost twice the size of the former facility with additional room for the church’s office and a Sunday School class at the back.
Pastors James & Pat and the members wish to express appreciation to all who attended the recent events. They anticipate that as time briskly marches on, it would not be long before the entire sanctuary is filled on Sunday mornings. A hearty welcome is extended to all.
Furthermore, it is the pastors’ intent and hope that those who visit the sanctuary would find the meaningful reality of God’s grace and that faith in this grace would lead them to definite conversions for purpose-driven experiences in Christ as their Savior. According to Pastor James, this hope reflects the church’s motto: “Showing the way, shining the truth, and sharing the life to every searching soul.”
