Corporate Manager of Caribbean Cable Communications (CCC), Damien Hughes, reported that his company decided to offer three stations for local television content because it believes one of the tenets of democracy is freedom of information. He said that the general public needs to be exposed to more avenues to grow and be empowered and to gain cultural education and general knowledge. He also noted that broadcasting local events will assist older persons who cannot travel to functions.

Colwayne Pickering, Executive Director of KCNTv Channel 12, as the company is now called, said that the company is very appreciative to CCC for offering the opportunity, through Hughes and owner Lee Bertman. He said that KCN will be putting on authentic and local programmes including interviews, features, news, sports and more.

Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Anguilla (NBA), Valentine Banks, offered his congratulations to KCNTv. He described it as a proud moment for Anguilla and for KCN and noted that NBA is proud to continue its sponsorship. He said that the KCN team is hard working and has kept Anguilla in tune with the world. He congratulated Damien Hughes on his position as Corporate Manager of CCC with responsibility for Anguilla, Nevis and Montserrat.

Trevor Woodley, speaking on behalf of Caribbean Commercial Bank, also committed to continued sponsorship and congratulated all who play a part in the local programming at KCN.

Carlton Pickering, Chief Executive Officer of KCNTv, described his feelings as being overjoyed, proud and happy. He thanked Banks for his support recognizing that he was instrumental in organizing a loan for him to buy his first camera. He expressed appreciation to all the people who have worked with him over the years, especially Rosanna Browne-Harrigan who has been with KCN since its inception, Mervyn Saunders and Cardigan Connor who conduct the sports segments and Carl Thomas who joined the group two years ago. He also thanked his two sons with particular praise for Colwayne who works closely with him and is totally committed. He expressed thanks to CCC for giving him the opportunity to realize his dream.
A contract was signed by KCN CEO Pickering and CCC Corporate Manager, Hughes.
Colwayne Pickering said that KCN has been successful in partnering with several regional entities including Carib Vision, CBN-TV Channel 51 seen in the British Virgin Islands, Infochannel 8 from Nevis, National Communications Network in Guyana and Windies International Network that provides Caribbean views with top rated regional and international programmes. He gave an outline of programming that will include Inspirational Moments at 6.00 a.m. followed by Caribbean Workout and Sunrise in Rainbow City that will include interviews and call in features. The popular Anguilla Diary Magazine and the Anthony Journal will continue.

On Saturdays there will be inspirational moments, sports, weekend reviews and documentaries. Sundays will have church programming, gospel videos and special programming. Pickering said that they will be partnering with local businesses for support in cash and kind, and they hope to feature businesses and more news in the future.
