Studnets at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School's Learning Centre with Mr. Seymour Hodge, Mrs. Ingrid Lake and Teachers
|
Uridith Browne, who heads the Learning Centre, was pleased to receive the materials which include books and games which she said would enhance the work there.
Mr. Hodge hoped that the students would continue to read, one of the areas in which he would like to see more young people involved in. He was also of the view that the computer games would be of much benefit to the students as he was aware of their usefulness having been a former teacher.
He urged the students to use the computers at the Learning Centre not just for ordinary games, but those of an educational nature. He took the opportunity to invite the students at the Adrian T. Hazell Primary School on Saturdays where he assists a number of other students,
Principal of the Comprehensive School, Mrs. Ingrid Lake, thanked Mr. Hodge and the Anguilla Community Foundation and the individual donor on behalf of the management and staff of the school and in particular the personnel and students at the Learning Centre.
Mrs. Lake said the Community Foundation had always shown an interest in the school and its students and hoped that it would continue to demonstrate that concern for Anguilla’s young people.
She was happy that Mr. Hodge, as a retired teacher was always ready and willing to offer his expertise in the furtherance of the work of the school system and the education of students.
