Continuing on the road of improvement, Denvile “Skywalker II” Ruan used his 2008 experience at the World Junior Championship in Poland to prepare for the 2009 World Athletics Championships which were held in Berlin, Germany. During the preparation phase Denvile participated in the Austrian National championships and produced a time of 11:53 seconds. Later he participated in an invitational track meet in Nurtingen, Germany, improving his time to 11:44 seconds.

As the 12th edition of the World Championships commenced, he realized the hour was at hand. Competing against some elite athletes Denvile improved his personal time by shaving 0:0:13 seconds from his pervious time to drop to 11:31 seconds. However, he did not progress to the second round. Anguilla must have been proud of this outstanding young man who exemplified hard work, good character and determination.
Later this week, Denvile will be going to the University of Maryland, at Eastern Shore, to pursue studies in Sports Therapy and Business Administration. Congratulations are extended to young Denvile “Skywalker II” Ruan for participating in the recent World Athletic Championships and for pursuing undergraduate studies.
