On Sunday July 26th, about 11 of the Class A racing boats left the Sandy Ground beach in aid of one winning the Peter Perkins Race.
Breaking down before reaching the stake which was dropped outside Cap Juluca, was the Real Deal, De Stinger and the Miss Anguilla.

The victorious Sonic
The Sonic was the first to reach the stake followed by the N.W.O, the Eagle and the Satellite, respectively.
The Eagle in second place
Sailing back to Sandy Ground for bragging rights in rough water and high winds, the boats had to now make tacks, call hard lees, sail with all the wind they got and place each other in order to be in the first five to reach the stake. The first boat to reach the stake, which was the Sonic, was the winner and also got five points, in second place was the Eagle receiving four points, followed by the Satellite in third place with three points, the N.W.O with two points and the Light and Peace got one point.

At the end of Summer Festival 2009, one of the boats will be crowned Boat of the Year and one, maybe the same, will be crowned Champion of Champions.
