Update Of 2008 Information Show Now On Channel 20

The launching ceremony took place at Kuyah Restaurant at Shoal Bay Beach on Monday evening, May 4, where Donna Davis of eyeTV spoke to The Anguillian. “We launched the first show here a year ago here and this is the update of that one,” she stated. “I have 28 sponsors on the show now, everything from villas to restaurants, to activities, real estate development, to history and culture and to non-profit organisations on the island.”

She explained that the 24-hour information channel show, which originally had 14 sponsors, was aimed at informing tourists about the great places at which they could stay and eat and to tell them about various other matters including the owners of the properties on the island.

Ms. Davis spends a lot of time at her home base in Palm Beach, Florida, where the editing of the material is done. She is assisted in Anguilla by Karen Walsh who looks after sales and marketing. According to Ms. Davis, there are many other tourism-related services on the waiting list for inclusion on the show but right now only the best of the best could be accommodated.

There are five other Caribbean islands covered by eyeTV. These are Trinidad, Turks and Caicos, Grand Turk, St. Kitts and Nevis and soon St. Martin/Maarten.
