POLICE INVESTIGATING BURGLARY

The Royal Anguilla Police Force has issued a release stating that its Criminal Investigation Department is carrying out inquiries into a burglary at Island Gases and Mini Mart, on the Long Path, which occurred between 22.00 hours on December 8 and 06.30 hours on December 9, 2002.

A CID team was dispatched to the scene after the proprietor, David Hodge, discovered that the building was burglarised.
The release stated that the police officers found that the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), property of the National Bank of Anguilla, was extensively damaged and an undisclosed sum of cash missing.
Media representatives observed that a section of the machine, where the steel is about half an inch thick, was cut out by a torch. A back door of the building was forced open, thus allowing entry to the intruder(s).
The Royal Anguilla Police Force is appealing to anyone having information relating to this crime to call the Police Department at 497-2333 or Crime Stoppers Hotline 0800 777 7777.
