At a press briefing held at the ECCB boardroom in the Fairplay Commercial Complex on April 16 at 10:00 am, Temenos and Flag Anguilla announced its support for the tenth annual Optimist Triathlon.

Mr Laing accepts the cheque from Mr Hodge

Public Relations Director, Mr. Arnie Hodge, met with members of the Optimist Organizing Committee, and the press, to hand over a cheque in the amount of USD $3,000. Kissock Laing, Chairman of the Triathlon Committee thankfully accepted the cheque. He was joined by other colleagues within the Optimist Club of Anguilla including its president Mr. Jerome Roberts.

Mr. Laing mentioned that fundraising efforts were not going to well as they have not yet met their budget of USD $10,000. Yet, they were all still very optimistic about people coming on board at the last minute such as Temenos/Flag Anguilla. Last week, Cable and Wireless Anguilla also committed to becoming a Platinum Sponsor as they regularly support the event.

The event is scheduled to take place this weekend on Sunday at 9:30 beginning at Mead’s Bay and ending around 11:00 am at Elodia’s in Shoal Bay. The public is invited to come out and support the triathletes and enjoy the event. Besides C&W Anguilla and Flag/Temenos, other sponsors of the event include Elodia’s Beach Bar and Grill, Keithly Lake and Associates, Harney Westwood and Riegels, Sunset Homes, Irie Life, and Caribbean Cable Communications.
