In second place was Orange House; third, Purple House; fourth, Yellow House and fifth, Pink House.
The competitive Sports Day activities began with the usual impressive and colourful parade from the grounds of the school to the Ronald Webster Park where the opening ceremony was held.
Principal of the school, Ingrid Lake, described the competition as one of the most important events in the school’s calendar. “It provides opportunities for growth and development psychologically and socially,” she stated. “It also provides opportunities for friendly rivalry, clean competition and team spirit.”
She commended the Sports Day main sponsor, Cable and Wireless and the various co-sponsors for their continued commitment, support, cooperation and generosity. Mrs. Lake also acknowledged the commitment of all the athletes to their houses and the school.

Christonie Fleming, Acting Chief Executive of Cable and Wireless, was pleased to disclose that this year the company donated US$4,100 for the overall sponsorship of the Inter-House Athletic Competition. He saw sports as providing opportunities for the development of social skills and team effort – characteristics which the athletes could take with them in the general world.
“Even though your House might not be a winner, I want you to know that your participation in these activities makes you an individual winner,” he told the athletes.
The Sports Day activities were declared open by Alkins Rogers, Director of Sports, who joined in encouraging the athletes to continue to build their interest in sporting events and commended Cable and Wireless for its overall sponsorship. He was also grateful to the co-sponsors – J&S SNO-Konette (Yellow House); Summerset Car Rental (Orange House); Highway Car Rental (Maroon House); Anguilla Printers (Pink House); and Triple K-Car Rental (Purple House).
The Patrons are Murielle Owen (Purple House); the late Reverend Carty (Yellow House); Ms Isa Lake (Orange House); the late Vida Lloyd (Maroon House); and the late Constantine Richardson (Pink House).
