The Royal Anguilla Police Sports Club has made a donation of EC$3,216 to the Shoddaz Basketball Club to finance the purchase of jerseys as part of the uniform outfit for its members.

The donation was presented to Angela Brooks, the Club’s Manager, by Deputy Commissioner, Illidge Richardson.

He hoped that the money would be used as planned and called on members of the Club to support the police in their community efforts to help youngsters to build positive and productive lives and to avoid drugs and other deviant behaviour.
Ms Brooks expressed gratitude to the police for their kind assistance.

The funds raised by the Police Sports Club are generated from such activities as Police Week and small monthly contributions by members of the Force. Apart from support for community activities, there are opportunities for police officers to obtain loans and other benefits from the savings.
