Police Report On Thefts, Burglaries Etc


Deputy Commissioner of Police, Illidge Richardson, and Sergeant Randolph Yearwood, appeared at Wednesday’s press briefing to report on various incidents against law and order which occurred in Anguilla during the period February 13-20.

There were two arrests – one person for theft and the other for carrying around an offensive weapon.

Two burglaries in Island Harbour and Sandy Hill were reported. Items stolen included three cellular phones, US$70, an undisclosed sum of money and jewellery.

There were four theft reports at North Side, Pope Hill, The Valley and Little Harbour. The stolen items were two cellular phones and one bicycle.

The police received three reports of criminal damage to a house and a cellular phone.

There was one report of bestiality.

Seven road accidents were recorded one of which was serious. It occurred just west of CCB and involved a collision between a motorcycle ridden by Tyrone Lewis of South Hill and a rental car driven by a visiting couple.

Lewis sustained injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment. He was reportedly recovering well.
