The Ministry of Social Development, Department of Youth and Culture has secured technical assistance for the Anguilla National Youth Council. This assistance has been obtained from the Commonwealth Youth Programme, Caribbean Centre (CYPCC) and the Tobago Youth Council (TYC). The assistance will be in the form of a two day strategic planning session, proceeded by short follow-up sessions geared towards reviewing the council’s constitution and developing a two year strategic plan for 2008-2010.

Facilitating these sessions will be Mr. Henry Charles, and Mr. Huey Cadette. Mr. Charles, Regional Director of the Commonwealth Youth Programme – Caribbean Centre is no stranger to Anguilla, he has served in the youth movement for over twenty years, including four years as an executive member of the Saint Lucia National Youth Council, five years as counselor for youth offenders at the Saint Lucia Boys Training Center and two years as Secretary/Treasurer of the Caribbean Federation of Youth. He has also facilitated many training workshops and seminars for youth organizations, community based organizations and other such entities in the region.

Mr. Charles will be assisted by Mr. Huey Cadette, President of the Tobago National Youth Council. Mr. Cadette is part of a team of persons working towards the redevelopment of the Caribbean Federation of Youth. Mr. Charles and Mr. Cadette will be working with current and former executive committee members of the Anguilla National Youth Council as well as other key stakeholders.
