Telecommunications provider Digicel, one of the contributors to the novice cycling event which took place on Sunday December 2nd is partnering with the Link Cycling Club to promote healthy living.

The Link Cycling Club, who conceptualized the event has partnered with other stakeholders in the community to raise the awareness of healthy living while getting young and older folk alike to discover Anguilla on bicycles.

According to President of the Club, Mr George Lake, “It’s about time we do something to curb some of the illnesses that currently plague our society which can be done through exercise, while we enjoy Anguilla and all the beauty it offers if we take the time to travel around.”

The Cycling club which is just over a year old has been targeting people of all ages; and has weekly practice sessions in an aim to urge residents of the island to adopt healthy lifestyles, one which is touted as well by Digicel.

Country Manager, Stephenie brooks says “Healthy living is something which should be a priority in everyone’s lives, and it Digicel is pleased to contribute to an entity which is raising this awareness and actually doing something that speaks to the root cause of many illnesses we now see prevalent in our society.”

Brooks further stated that “Events and causes like these would always be on the agenda of Digicel, since they truly emanates who we are; a true community based company.”

This is one in many such causes Digicel has been contributing towards during the year as they strive to promote harmony within the community.
