The lucky passenger was David Biggar of Newark, New Jersey, who was accompanied by his wife and their young daughter and came to stay for a week on the island. The prize he won included a complimentary return ticket to Anguilla and a weekend stay at CuisinArt with the compliments of American Eagle.

Mr. Biggar, who was on his second visit to Anguilla, was presented with the gift package as he entered the passenger line at the Immigration Desk inside the Terminal Building. “This is the best news I have heard all week,” he commented when told that he was the winner of the prize. “It is an excellent bonus to our trip here and we will definitely be back again.” He and his family came to be guests at Bliss Villa owned by his aunt, Victoria James.

Director of Tourism, Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch, welcomed Mr. Biggar and his family to Anguilla and introduced them to Minister of Tourism, Victor Banks and Chairman of the Tourist Board, John Benjamin.

Mr. Banks, who congratulated the visitor for winning the award, said that American Eagle had served Anguilla well over the 20 years it had been flying to Anguilla. “They have been our main carrier bringing people from the United States and Europe and assisting us with our tourism development. This is a very important milestone and we hope that American Eagle enjoys 20 more years of experience with Anguilla as the main and preferred carrier.”

Mr. Benjamin joined in congratulating Mr. Biggar and hoped that he and his family would enjoy their stay and would come again.

“I wish to congratulate American Eagle on its 20 years of service. “The airline has been a true partner with us in our development,” he stated. “I trust that American Eagle would appreciate that we are very pleased with the service they are providing in Anguilla…and would provide greater access to us as we develop and they develop with us.”

Manager of American Eagle in Anguilla and the rest of the Northern Caribbean, Millie Hodge, said: “I am pleased that we made it this far and I thank everyone here for making this possible today. We worked very close with the Ministry of Tourism on continued service to Anguilla and hope we can continue to serve the island for 20 more years.”

Meanwhile, there is another 20th Anniversary prize being offered by American Eagle. It is that, at the end of November, anybody who purchases one of the airline’s tickets in Anguilla will be eligible to participate in a draw for a round-trip ticket Anguilla/Miami/Anguilla.
