Search parties from the district and other parts of the island have been daily looking for him in the surrounding bush including the Brimigen and Shoal Bay coastal areas.

Members of the Royal Anguilla Police Force have also joined in the search assisted by a Dutch St. Maarten Police dog and their helicopter.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, Anguilla’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Illidge Richardson, said a shirt identified as the one worn by Smith, was found in the surf at Black Garden Beach, just down from Brimigen.

It is understood that he is not a lover of the sea.

Smith, who has been ailing for some time, is married to Veronica Smith and has nine children. In the past he was regularly seen walking around the village area, but has always returned to his home near the Shoal Bay/Little Dix junction.
