Anguilla National Youth Council Prepares For Election


The Anguilla National Youth Council is currently preparing to elect a new executive committee. The election is scheduled for 8th December, 2007 at the Teacher’s Resource Centre beginning at 6:30 p.m. The executive committee is composed of a President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary Treasurer and Unattached Youth Representative. All members of the Anguilla National Youth Council are being asked to take note.

Organisations and individuals who are interested in joining the Anguilla National Youth Council are asked to complete and submit their registration forms. Registration forms can be obtained from the Department of Youth and Culture or downloaded at www.anguillanews.com.

The Anguilla National Youth Council was established in 1977 as a national body to protect the interests of all youth, youth groups, and affiliated organisations; and to advance and promote the general welfare and social progress of not only the youth, but also the people of Anguilla. After functioning intermittently over the years it was revived in 2007 under the direction of the Ministry of Social Development, Department of Youth Culture.

The Ministry of Social Development, Department of Youth and Culture, will like to congratulate the outgoing executive for the hard work rendered on behalf of the young people of Anguilla.

The outgoing executives comprises, Sherri-Anne Roberts (President), Keria Hughes (Vice President), Olufunmike Banks-Devonish (General Secretary), Patriese Richards (Treasurer), Eduardo Samuel (Assistant Secretary-Treasurer), Anthea Roach (Unattached Youth Representative).
