Rotary Club of Anguilla, a very active community based organization, met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, November 1 at 6:30 pm. The Upper Level Night Club was elegantly prepped for the ceremony with programmes neatly laid out among the cutlery provided for the dinner that would take place shortly after the meeting was called to order. Mr. Seymour Hodge, President of the Rotary Club, along with Dr. Louis Bardfield, Sergeant-at-Arms, greeted the invitees and other Rotary members.

Mr. Hodge spoke with The Anguillian about this new endeavour for the youth of Anguilla. He said, “Interact is a rotary sponsored service club for young persons between the ages of 14 and 18. Interact gives youth the opportunity to participate in fun, meaningful projects and assist persons in developing initiatives and leadership skills.” Currently, there are 35 members in the club from the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. Under the guidance of the Rotary Club, the children will get involved with service projects such as beach clean ups and very soon they will be engaged in planting trees at the round -a-bout in Shoal Bay.
Members of the Interact Club were inducted as official business of the meeting. The following youth officers were recognized: Sherise Brooks, President; Shauntae Booth, Vice-President; Marisa Harding-Hodge, Secretary; Cedelia Connor, Treasurer; Khaleda Gumbs, Assistant Secretary; Weyni Goodwin, Assistant Treasurer; Jelani Banks, Public Relations Officer.
