Methodist Dance At Spirit-filled Crusade |
| Publishing date: 12.10.2007 10:03 |
Methodists, from the six congregations in Anguilla now in a crusade, threw aside some of their formalities on Tuesday night and, like other nights, danced and hugged at the rhythm of some of the best loved praise and worship choruses heard on the island.

The powerful preacher for the one-week “Living Water Gospel Crusade” is Reverend Ruthlyn Bradshaw, formerly of Montserrat, who resides and serves in the United Kingdom and is a well-travelled and accomplished Evangelist.
The sermon on Tuesday night centred on Jesus’ weeping over Jerusalem of old which was on the point of destruction having not heeded God’s grace and prepared for the time of its visitation, as recorded in the Book of Luke.

Reverend Bradshaw spoke on various ways in which God visits people and the need for them to be cognisant of His pleadings and grace. She exhorted her listeners to be aware of His visitation. “If you miss it, it will be your greatest loss,” she warned.

Prior to the crusade there were prayers in the Anguilla Methodist Circuit that the event would be “a time of renewal and revival for the Church in particular and Anguilla as a whole.”

The reaction of the people to the stirring and spirit-filled crusade appears to have met that hope. One person remarked: “Certainly there is a need for a new spiritual awakening to sweep across Anguilla in these times of uncertainty and trouble when the world appears to be hurtling to some catastrophic destiny.”

Local Preacher, Evalie Bradley

Local Preacher Evalie Bradley captured the spiritually-charged mood of the congregation when she said to The Anguillian as she joined in the dance around the church building: “Move, or be knocked down.”
