Ms. Thomas was a student at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School and graduated in 1999. She later migrated to England and originally wanted to study medicine but took an interest in forensic science instead.

She has just graduated from the Trent University in Nottingham with a BSc. (Hons) degree in Forensic Science and has now been appointed to the Royal Anguilla Police Force as a Special Constable.

She was introduced to the local media on Wednesday this week by Superintendent of Police, Rudolph Proctor. He said she had been attached to the Crime Scenes Department. The staff members there include one sergeant and one constable. “Ms Thomas now gives us that capability to run a shift session plus with her experience she will enhance what we do in the Crime Scenes section.”

Proctor said the aim of the Force was to attract qualified Anguillians to enhance the service it provides to the public.

Ms. Thomas said her duties would involve crime scene examinations, gathering and documenting and analysing of evidence.
