West Group Prepares Children For Concert

Last week, many children performed a musical concert at Campus B with the help of some talented instructors from the USA. The West Group arrived in Anguilla in Mid July and stayed for two weeks with the goal of sharing music with the children. During the two weeks children learned about the fundamentals of music and many instruments such as the piano, saxophone, bass, string instruments, percussion and voice. For the grand finale, the students performed many songs such as Mary Had a Little Lamb, Take the A Train and Blue Bossa to name a few. Many parents, supporters, teachers, and members of government were on hand to enjoy and witness the talented young Anguillians.

Joel Holmes, the piano instructor mentioned that the children were very talented and eager to learn. He said, “In two weeks this has been amazing. I have never seen children so talented and eager to learn. I have been treated well by the students and staff as well as the people of Anguilla. I would love to come back. It is a beautiful country and the food is great as well.”
