Mrs. Brenda Carty of Anguilla, who was appointed by Her Majesty The Queen in June 2006, as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), has recently been presented with the Insignia of that award.

The presentation was made to Mrs. Carty on June 13 by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
Mrs. Carty, a local journalist, is the Anguilla correspondent and feature writer for the Daily Herald in St. Maarten and is the author of two booklets on Anguilla. She is a longstanding community worker and has served over the years as a member of various organisations. She was honoured for service to the Anguillian community.
