Tashanna Connor, a very knowledgeable young lady, from Blowing Point, Anguilla, manages Blu and Solei Sundries Shop along with four employees: Kimsesha Rey, Cindy Bryan, Celestine Connor and Annie Fleming. She is proud of job and the confidence her employers have in her.

“There is no other boutique in Anguilla like Blu with the very popular lines of clothing it has,” she says. “We do not have a lot of the same thing. We have specials and our service is very professional. The girls working with me are willing to assist customers to find anything they are looking for. If they cannot find it, we will help them to look for a substitute.”

She went on: “We recently held a fashion show at the Managers’ Cocktail Party to promote our clothing and to encourage our guests and others visiting the hotel to shop with us. It went pretty well and next day we had a number of guests looking for the same outfits which were modelled by the girls from various sections of the resort.”

Those who did the modelling appeared in swim suits and beach cover-ups, beautiful sun dresses to be worn at luncheons and other functions during the day, elegant evening dresses for such events as dinners, parties, weddings and cocktail parties; and cotton T-shirts and tank tops.

Apart from the fashion show, Blu and Capri Boutiques regularly offer special promotions, sales and discounted prices. “We have sales off and on,” Tashanna states. “For example, we had a Valentine’s special which offered 10% discount on anything that was sold and $50 off on purchases amounting to over $300; and then there was a sale of women’s clothing at 50% discount for the 40th Anniversary of the Anguilla Revolution.” This sale continues until the end of the season.

CuisinArt Boutiques in Anguilla are regularly featured in a weekly advertisement in The Anguillian.
