Officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force, Criminal Investigation Department, are conducting inquiries into a series of burglaries which occurred in The Quarter and Cauls Bottom villages during the past days.

On Friday April 13, at about 12.30 noon, Police Officers responded to a report of a burglary in The Quarter, where intruders entered a dwelling house while the owners were at work and stole in excess of U$3,000.00. The burglary is said to have occurred between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12.30 noon.
On Monday, April 16, police again responded to three burglary reports – two at Cauls Bottom and one in the Quarter which occurred between 8 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. Again the intruders entered three dwelling houses while the owners were at work.
In these three burglary cases a quantity of jewellery and electronic equipment was stolen.
In all three cases the intruder gained access to the premises by causing damage to exterior entrance doors.
Detectives on Tuesday, April 17, detained a young man in relation to these burglaries and he is assisting them with their inquiries.
The Police are appealing to residents of these three areas to report any suspicious sightings of persons or vehicles in any of the affected areas during or between the times the burglaries are believed to have occurred. The Police are also warning the public to be on the look out for persons offering jewellery, cellular phones, Ipods and MP3 players for sale on the streets as these items could be stolen property and should be reported to the Police.
Meanwhile, detectives are continuing their inquiries into the serious robbery incidents that occurred in Cul de Sac, Lockrum, Little Harbour and South Hill villages. Suspects continue to be questioned by detectives in their ongoing investigations and several pieces of evidence collected at the crime scenes are being submitted to the forensic laboratory in Jamaica for analysis.
