ALHCS Literary & Debating Team At Cap Juluca

Members of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School Literary and Debating Society were special guests at the Cap Juluca monthly Employee Awards Luncheon last week. The students, headed by President Shirmel Richardson were presented with a cheque for US $500.00 as part of their fund-raising efforts, after partnering with the resort in a clean-up of Cove Bay Beach earlier in the month. Some thirty members of the Club had participated in the community service event and Cap Juluca had supported their efforts by providing equipment and brunch for the students.

Speaking on behalf of the Resort, Director of Human Resources, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks, congratulated the members of the Debating Club for their academic as well as social work. She noted that over the years Cap Juluca partnered with a number of youth organizations in community and beach clean-ups, donating to their causes while helping to teach them to play their part in preserving the beauty and cleanliness of the island.

The cheque handover was one of the highlights of the hotel’s monthly Employee Awards Luncheon for the month of March.
