A release issued by the department, states that the programme, which has as its theme Excellence through Understanding, has two aims. One is to enable officers to achieve an understanding of the organisation and its operations including policies and procedures. The other is to set the tone for the Anguilla Public Service by impacting officers’ attitudes in a manner that will inspire them to pursue excellence.

The two induction sessions were held on March 14 and 15 at the Teachers’ Resource Centre.

The topics included goals and roles of the Anguilla Public Service, Expectations of Public Officers; Customer Service, Compensations and Benefits and Mobility within the Service and Training.

According to the release, research has shown that induction programmes are essential strategies in the retaining of staff, reducing staff turn over and fostering effective performance.
It was anticipated, therefore, that at the end of the two days, officers would have a better understanding of the organisation, its policies and procedures
