Wooden fence shows protection measure for children

Careful attention is being paid to the safety of children as the long-delayed completion of their school complex is taking place by contractor Wilson Reid and his workmen.
The school’s Principal, Art Egel, has expressed gratitude to Project Manager, Nigel Connor, and Wilson Reid for taking time to meet with him and his staff to discuss safety at the premises. He thought they had done a great job by using wood to fence off the construction site to the east of the two existing buildings occupied by the students and teachers.

The Principal also had words of commendation for the Student Council comprising two children each from Grades 1-6. At break-time up to five children take lunch orders to the nearby restaurant and collect the food at lunchtime, thus avoiding large numbers of students traversing near the construction site.
“The Student Council is really working hard to ensure safety during this construction period,” he added.
The two existing classroom buildings were financed by the British and Anguillian Governments while the West End community was expected to raise part of the money for the construction work. The project however suffered a four-year delay and has finally got started with the assistance of the KOR/Viceroy Group which recently provided US$1,000,000 to complete the school.
