She has a record of 38 years in the teaching profession and thinks it is time to go home especially as she never had a break from the school house since being a student many years before. She recalled having been sent straight from the school-leaving form of then Valley Secondary School to teach at the old Boys School in 1969.

From there she was posted to the Valley Primary School when it was built in 1971 and remained there until 1995. She attended the Antigua Teachers’ College from 1977-79 and on her return to Anguilla she was posted at Road Primary from 1979-80. In September 1980 she was moved back to Valley Primary. She left Anguilla in 1993 to attend a two-year diploma course in Special Education at Mico’s Teachers’ College in Jamaica. It was in 1995 that she was transferred from Valley Primary to Road Primary where she has continued to serve to the present time.

She is continuing her class work until the end of the school year by which time a suitable replacement should be found for her.

Apart from her teaching career, she is involved in a number of church and community activities. These include her service at Ebenezer Methodist Chapel in The Valley, membership in the Lions Club and the National AIDS Committee.
