A second family, whose residence was gutted by fire, which also destroyed their possessions, have received assistance from the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

On Wednesday, February 14, Pastor Danny Phillip, the Resident Minister in charge of the Church’s three congregations at Mount Fortune, South Hill and Long Bay, presented a cheque for EC$6,000 to Sherie Connor, daughter of Dorcity Connor. Her mother was rescued from the burning house in North Valley by her grandson on February 6.

The Pastor was accompanied by Sisters Dannette Webster and Christine Waite, Community Services Leaders at the Mount Fortune Church at East End and Jireh Tabernacle at South Hill respectively.

It was the second time that the Church assisted fire victims. On January 21 the Church presented EC$6,000 to Vera Harrigan, whose residence at Deep Waters was destroyed along with her possessions and those of her two young children.
