Arrangements for the tournament were made by the AGA tournament committee and Temenos Director of Golf, Dana Schmid, and staff. Twenty AGA golfers participated and, following the event, prizes were awarded by PGA golf professional, Hale Kelley, at Zurras.
The AGA was formed in 2002 to introduce and promote the game of golf in Anguilla. Members built and maintained a pitch and putt course in Sandy Ground that was opened until last year. The Association has been instrumental in providing instructions and training programs for golf enthusiasts and, in 2005, started an ambitious youth program.
AGA is presently considering an opportunity to join the Eastern Caribbean Golf Association (ECGA) which would open playing options on ten other Caribbean islands for AGA members. The next tournament will be the Peter Johnstone Claret Cup 10 March at Temenos golf course.
