The grounds of Police Headquarters were turned into a large recreation area with oversized play pens, food stalls, music and other entertainment.

“Last year was our first Kiddies’ Jamboree and we decided to have it again in 2007,” said Acting Sergeant Randolph Yearwood, Chairman of the organising committee. “This time it is much bigger. The children are here in big numbers and their parents are with them.”

The games included a whoola hoop competition, bouncing castles, horse-back riding, Sponge Ball and other activities. “It is bigger and better this year and every year it is going to get bigger and better,” Yearwood went on. “We want to thank the parents, the public and all the sponsors. The children are our future and we, police officers, are always friends of the children.”

Working with Yearwood as Chairman, were Committee members Samantha and Monicia Gumbs, two Secretaries at Police Headquarters; Police Officers Vydia Harrigan, Judith Ruan and Agustina Carbon.
