NBA Ranked No.1 Business In Anguilla Again

The National Bank of Anguilla has been ranked number one business in Anguilla for the second time. It is the result of the annual business survey undertaken by Melinda Goddard, Principal of Clientell Consulting, LLC , in partnership with the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The results of the survey were given by Ms Goddard at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting held at the Overlook Restaurant on January 25. She reported that 70 businesses were surveyed this year and, according to her findings, the number of dissatisfied customers excelled those who were satisfied. There was an average of 38 percent dissatisfied customers and 15 satisfied ones.
In order to improve satisfaction, she said there was a need for businesses to have friendly and polite service, qualified workers, good management and able to provide solutions to problems, among other charisteristics.

She was pleased to announce that the National Bank of Anguilla had been voted as the best business in Anguilla for the second consecutive time. Caribbean Commercial Bank, J W Proctors and ANGLEC placed second. Third were Ashley & Sons and Caribbean Cable Communications. Those in the top ten were Cable and Wireless, Essential Office Supplies, Haskins Ltd Tropical Shipping and Highway Tyre Service. They were presented with Certificates by Calvin Bartlett, Executive Director of the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce.

On Monday this week, at a press briefing, Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank, E. Valentine Banks, said: “We are certainly excited. Obviously the bank has been doing something right and it is reflected in this award. We value the patronage granted by our customers. We make every effort to satisfy their needs and meet their expectations and when we receive awards such as these we are happy knowing that in some degree we have achieved our objectives.”
He said the Chamber was an institution whose award one would value because it supported high standards in business, was very supportive of the community and was doing its best to assist businesses in being good corporate citizens and business-like in their approach. The award was therefore much treasured and appreciated by the bank.

Mr. Banks expressed appreciation for the recognition the bank had received from those who voted in the business survey. “We expect that they would have patronised the bank at some point and time and been at least satisfied with its service. We know that in terms of the survey there were criteria for those very satisfied; satisfied and not satisfied. We believe that we can achieve higher levels of satisfaction among our patrons and we will strive to do so. At this point and time we are very happy that we have been able to impress sufficient people to have voted the bank the number one business on the island.”
The Chief Executive Officer was grateful to NBA’s Directors for their policy direction and the staff members who work long hours to ensure that the bank satisfies the needs of its customers in order to make it the success it has been. He added that it was an example for other businesses to follow.
Mr. Bartlett, the Chamber’s Executive Director, said that the fact that NBA won the award for the second time in a row showed it was doing something good and was a role model for other businesses. He was happy to have part of the business survey “which was done by a very outstanding agency.” He said the survey was of a very high standard and the Chamber was delighted to have had the services of Ms Goddard to conduct the exercise.
