This followed a quiz competition ran in The Anguillian newspaper on the company’s Bsmart page from September to December 2006. It was part of a regional undertaking by Cable & Wireless.

The gifts were presented at the school on Monday this week. Marketing Manager, Giesel Francis, said students from the schools were asked to fill in answers on the page and take the completed answers to Cable & Wireless where they were marked and grades given to the best performing students.

The winner was chosen by a raffle held at Telecoms House just before Christmas. Miss Francis said it was arranged for the winning student to get a gift pack, while it was decided to give the Dell Computer to the school. “It was done that way to ensure the student’s loyalty to the school spirit,” she added.

Romney, the student who won, said it was an exciting time for him and that he was delighted to have participated in the quiz and to give something to the institution on his own behalf.

Avon Carty, Corporate Communications Vice President, congratulated all the other schools and students for participating in the competition. She made special mention of the Island Harbour Primary School which showed great interest in the quiz.
