Festival D Noel Miss Mature Pageant A Success |

A large and appreciative crowd was on hand for the Miss Mature Pageant, one of the highlights of Festival De Noel, held at the Basketball Court at East End on Monday night, December 11.

There were four contestants who portrayed Anguillian women in past and modern times.
The winner was Venetta Francis, portrayer of ‘Elizabeth Merchant Market Hind Leg of Welches (with 487 points). First Runner-up was Indah Wallace, who portrayed her grandmother, the late Idalia Gumbs, (478 points); Second Runner-up was Charlon Richardson, who portrayed her great grandmother, Meyet of Pond Ground (396 points); and Third Runner-up was Ah Lee Ya Bertie, portrayer of Daisy (Juan) Richardson (376 points).

The prizes are as follows – for the winner: US$400, a gift basket, two nights at Ku Hotel, Shoal bay; dinner for two at Flavors Restaurant and the winning trophy; first runner-up: US$300, one night at Alamada Beach Club, dinner for two at Strawhat Restaurant, a gift basket and a trophy; second runner-up: US$200, dinner for two at Sunsets Restaurant, a gift basket and a trophy; and third runner-up: US$200, a round trip on the Link Cat ferry, lunch at English Rose for two, a gift basket and a trophy.
