More Houses Being Demolished

More houses in close proximity to Wallblake Airport are being demolished in accordance with the agreements reached between Government and property owners.

One of the few remaining abandoned homes at the foot of the runway – the one owned by Agnes Gumbs – was demolished this week. A number of others on the airport side of the George Hill main road, otherwise known as the Edwin Wallace Drive, will be taken down in due course.

The owners of the houses have vacated them in view of the expanded work undertaken at the airport.

The Government has taken steps to relocate them and others near the head of the airport. Most of the new homes have already been built and occupied.
